Job Description
Cleaning instruments and stretchers/ chairs. General tidying of the department. Supporting Clinic staff by monitoring supply levels and stocking supplies as necessary. Assisting nurses with patient care by cleaning and changing linen on stretchers/chairs as needed. Equipment retrieval from throughout the hospital. Other duties to support patient flow as required.
Qualifications :
- Minimum grade 12 education required
- Must have previous ward aide or related health care experience
- Experience with surgical instruments/medical supplies (cleaning/stocking) required
- Must be able to diplomatically respond to customer requests in a demanding work environment
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and organize and prioritize work
- Flexibility and the ability to work quickly in a busy environment
- Must be able to respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Repetitive standing & walking frequently pushing patients on stretchers lifting boxes of IV solutions weighing approximately 30 lbs. and bending to clean stretchers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
- Satisfactory employment record and good attendance record required.
Additional Information :
Hours: Monday to Friday; Days 8 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $26.50 to $27.01 per hour
