Where you will work
TheCypress Bend facility is located in the historic Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp used in the production of folding cartons commercial print paperboard carded packaging and cupstock. This facility boasts over 300 talented employees and stretches across 730 acres. Clearwater Paper employees are proud to manufacture a highquality product for an essential industry.
Cypress Bend is a rural community with close access to the Mississippi River. What you will do
The E&I Technician position for the maintenance team at the Cypress Bend location is responsible for maintaining machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine downtime.
- Proficiently perform at least one 1 of the recognized primary crafts and act as a knowledgeable helper in all other recognized primary crafts including:
- Electrical
- Instrumentation
- Pipefitter
- Millwright
- Machinist
- Welder
- Auto/Diesel Mechanic
- HVAC
- Change out equipment
- Safely operate a variety of tools (power machine shop gasoline powered hand tools etc.
- Safely operate company vehicles including forklift overhead crane clamp truck
- Hold self and others to high level of safety standards ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures appropriate PPE safe driving practices proper lifting techniques etc.
- Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
- Operate maintain and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations procedural reporting and documentation requirements
What you will need
To be successful in this position we are looking for candidates with the following:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Minimum 2 years continuous work experience in a manufacturing production industrial or laborintensive work environment (preferred) OR recent completion of technical program in Electro/Mechanics or Industrial Electrical programs associates degrees preferred.
- Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
- Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes loud noise avoiding slipping tripping and falling hazards
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending walking sitting and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12hour shift
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
- Work environment includes exposure to compressed air steam lubrication oil dust and hydraulic fluid.
- Able to work a 12hour rotating shift including nights weekends and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.
