Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Swim Camp Counselor role supports all aspects of camp including supervision instructional support coaching recreational activities and camp operations from Sunday at 11am until Thursday at 5pm. Housing and meals are provided during camp.
Transferable Skills:
Organization leadership coaching instruction and time management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Wake campers each morning; room checks each evening.
Provide sportspecific instruction and training under the direction of the head coach.
Organize and/or assist with daily dryland activities.
Provide supervision of campers at assigned activities both instructional and recreational for the duration of the camp session(s).
Be responsive and reachable throughout the duration of camp and oncampus from
10pm 8am daily.
Apply basic youth development principles in working with students through inclusivity communication relationship development and respect.
Be aware of and implement all safety guidelines. Follow and uphold all security rules and
procedures. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers.
Interact with people from a diversity of backgrounds and experience.
Video record swim technique and upload videos for review.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Applicants should have a background in competitive swimming dryland training and working with youth.
