Job Description

The Orthopaedic Generalist Physician Assistant position provides autonomy with the ability to work in dual settings; outpatient and inpatient. This PA works in the outpatient environment handling general hand foot sports injuries and will also have the opportunity for some inpatient coverage. The PA interacts with and collaborates with physicians other APPs residents and fellows. This is a vital role as part of our team across the orthopaedic continuum.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $93.02 $124.28 (Hourly Rate).

Physician Assistant


Sr Physician Assistant
  • Specific training and experience in Orthopedics minimum of 5 years of which 3 are in the most recent years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication professional computer and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse professional and patient population
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job duties/functions
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations


Preferred Qualifications
n/a

  • Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA).
  • California drivers license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2 2N 3 3N 4 and 5 registered to a California address
  • Complete an AAPA recognized graduate masters degree program as a Physician Assistant.
  • Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
  • Current AHA BLS.
  • Current AHA ACLS.


UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 6090 days but can vary.
