About Us:
Best Foot Forward is a nonprofit organization based in Boca Raton dedicated to supporting foster and atrisk students in Palm Beach County.
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle and High School Academic Coach to join our team! This role is ideal for someone who is motivated to make a difference and has a heart for working with youth.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Parttime 28 hours per week)
- Schedule: Monday Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM (flexible within that window)
- Location: Various schools across Palm Beach County (reliable transportation required)
- Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
- Important Note: This is a dedicated parttime role not designed to supplement a fulltime teaching position. We appreciate your understanding that it is best suited for those with flexible availability.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone academic coaching to middle and high school students
- Support students in developing organizational study and learning strategies
- Track and review student grades on a weekly basis
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to support student success
- Identify learning patterns and address academic challenges
- Assist students with assignments and secure tutors as needed
- Use incentives and goalsetting strategies to motivate student progress
- Document and submit session notes after each meeting
- Participate in student support meetings as needed
Qualifications:
- Teaching experience strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized detailoriented and patient
- Ability to work confidentially and exercise discretion
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
