For our US team we are looking for a Sales Specialist to join our Oils Desk Team!


Sales Specialist

The Sales Specialist is responsible for customer relationship management with a focus on growing our portfolio of business and leads in collaboration with Sales Executives and VP. Secondary focus on building their own customer bank and sales. They also provide input and assistance to other internal functional areas including Quality Customer Service Engineering and Manufacturing to improve processes and customer satisfaction levels.


Your responsibilities and objectives:

Customer Base:

  • In collaboration with Sales Executives and VP Sales manage customer accounts. Independently manage customer accounts if applicable.
  • Support Sales Executives and VP Sales on larger account.
  • Generate leads and convert to customers.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of contract book (customer pulls against contracts)
  • Knowledge of costing/margins and pricing strategies.
  • Understand spread contract management including pricing and incoterms pull schedules strategies to manage customers that are ahead or behind.
  • Understanding position management and basic functions of inbound shipments.
Systems:
  • Setting up customers and vendors in the ERP system.
  • Entry of sales contracts in the ERP system.
  • Managing accurate CRM system data in the ERP systems and offline databases.
Customer Service:
  • Assuring optimal customer satisfaction
  • Help oversee customer receive required shipments and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Assure proactive follow up on any complaints / claims received oversee timely response and resolution with customer. (incl. credit / debit / payment holds)
  • Overseeing credit limits of customers and assuring that released orders are sufficiently covered and assist AR in collections when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • BA Business Management Marketing International Trade Agriculture or related field a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in sales international trade or a comparable function.
Knowledge and skills:
  • Preferred B to B sales or merchandising experience
  • Successful experience selling through portfolio to existing customer base
  • Successful experience finding prospects turning prospects into leads and leads into customers preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building rapport with customers and curating durable relationships
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to solve challenging problems prioritize meet deadlines and work with minimal direction
  • Works well in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Thrives working in ambiguous situations
