Responsible for usage of all fitness equipment in pool space.
Provide a safe fun and challenging or therapeutic class to each student.
Take proper class attendance.
Dress properly and carry themselves in a professional manner.
Responsible for finding a substitute instructor to teach his/her class when able.
Teach the class at set schedule time.
Attend all required water exercise instructor meetings.
Follow and adhere to the park districts employee policies.
Return all fitness equipment to its proper place after each class.
Report to class early to prepare space set up equipment arrange music greet guests and help
check in (when necessary).
Turn in time sheets to the Aquatic Supervisor.
When applicable update class description for each seasonal brochure.
Communicate positive opinions about the park district to students or clientele.
Recognize when a guest is in distress and follow proper EAP protocol.
Focus on welcoming diversity encouraging inclusion and creating equity for all.
Support the Districts safety initiative including adhering to policies and procedures performing
your job in a safe manner attending required training seeking additional training as needed
promptly reporting accidents/incidents and proactively addressing hazards in the workplace.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to withstand at least an hour or physical activity in the pool environment.
Should be able to move water exercise equipment.
May be exposed to high humidity and 86 degrees Fahrenheit temperature.
Pool area floors may be slippery.
HOURS:
Classes at the Oak Brook Family Aquatic Center take place every day during the week throughout the
day. Water Exercise Instructors should expect to work less than 10 hours a week based on their class
schedule.
