ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set instock accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound outbound replenishment and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise GM areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy merchandise setup and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick pack and ship fulfillment work.

Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends inventory replenishment and process efficiency and improvement
Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
As a General Merchandise Expert no two days are ever the same but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
When guests need assistance engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
Thank guests and let them know were happy they chose to shop at Target.
Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products restocking shelves organizing the backroom arranging merchandise and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
If certified operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
Execute processes including changing prices to products merchandise setup and maintenance and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
Learn how operational procedures such as setting up and organizing merchandise managing product stock levels and maintaining sales floor areas affect inventory management store profitability and product availability.
Be knowledgeable about the resources products and services available in the total store and specific to your area to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct safety and compliance.
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies best practices and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
Support guest services such as backup cashier and digital fulfillment processes (such as picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders to guests) and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties such as federal state and local adult beverage laws.

Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
Work both independently and with a team
Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
Attention to detail and follow a multistep processes
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fastpaced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
Climb up and down ladders
Scan handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
Flexible work schedule (e.g. nights weekends and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to DriveUp carryout etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
