This role is parttime at 32 hours per week and will include split shifts and weekend work.
The Head Coach is accountable for the development and of the swimming squad providing lifelong opportunities for swimmers. Promoting and innovative approach to swim coaching and athletic growth with the aim of developing the best Age Development swim program in Sydneys West.
About you
You enjoy swimming love working with children through to adult athletes and want to teach the skills and attributes of competitive swimming and water safety to others.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to communicate interact and build effective relationships with both internal and external parties that have an invested interest in the program. The applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the Aquatic leadership team.
Essential criteria
At least 3 years experience in coaching competitive swimming squads
Coaching qualification through Australian Swimming or international equivalent
Knowledge of club and team administrative duties
A valid NSW Working with Children Check
Current First Aid Certificate (including Provide First Aid Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Desirable criteria
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from$38.62 $44.71 per hour plus 11.5 Superannuationand will be negotiated commensurate with the skills qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
This position has been identified as a ChildRelated position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
