Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly Rate: $17.20 to $18.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Guard I reports to the Safety Security and Transportation Manager and is an hourly nonexempt position.
- The Guard I is responsible for enforcing all laws rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
- Enforces all authorized laws rules and regulations.
- The Guard I Performs alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft misappropriation vandalism fire flood or similar disaster suspicious acts and/or persons and other unusual conditions.
- Provide vehicle transportation support function under direction of supervisor in compliance with government corporate and management directives.
- Aids and assists visitors students and staff.
- Performs building security and safety checks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a security department law enforcement agency or experience with security duties.
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Prefer Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and DrugFree Workplace
Additional Requirements:Prefer knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques and law enforcement procedures. Must maintain CPR/FA Certification. Ability to obtain a bus drivers license. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment and drive an automobile. In addition must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
