Description

The Team
The Indigenous Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team in Nanaimo is a wellestablished mediumsized group dedicated to providing culturally sensitive mental health services to children youth and families. Operating on the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw SnaNawas and Stzuminus First Nations the team collaborates with local Indigenous Nations community support workers clinicians and psychiatrists to deliver comprehensive care. Their approach respects Indigenous knowledge and traditions fostering strong supportive relationships with families and community partners while ensuring cultural safety and inclusion.

The Role
As a CYMH Clinician you will provide mental health services to Indigenous and Metis children youth and families facing emotional psychological and behavioral challenges. This includes conducting assessments creating culturally informed treatment plans and offering individual group and family therapy. Youll collaborate with community partners and provide consultation and training to MCFD clinicians on culturally appropriate practices. Your work will contribute to the healing and wellness of the community making a meaningful impact on children and families while supporting reconciliation and culturally grounded practices. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 day a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
