We are seeking a Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our team. The Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator will be responsible for managing maintaining and optimizing the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability security and high performance of systems that support a variety of enterpriselevel applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Linux administration automation system troubleshooting and implementing security best practices in complex IT environments.
Work will be conducted in a hybrid setting from Monday through Friday each week wo 2 days remotely and OnSite Work 3 Days per Week) in Annapolis MD.

Education:
Bachelors degree or postgraduate degree in Engineering Computer Science or a closely related field (as determined by the Administrative Office of the Courts AOC).
Certification:
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA):
Certification must be issued by Red Hat.
Resources must provide a valid certification number.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
A minimum of 10 years of experience administering Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries systems.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
Key Responsibilities:
Install configure and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in development test and production environments.
Perform system upgrades patch management and security hardening in alignment with industry best practices.
Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and optimize uptime and efficiency.
Develop and manage automation scripts using Ansible Bash or Python.
Configure and maintain Red Hat ecosystem tools such as Satellite and Identity Management (IdM).
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with vulnerability management and security policies.
Manage and optimize storage backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
Provide support to application teams ensuring best practices for Linuxbased deployments.
Maintain thorough and uptodate documentation for system configurations and procedures.
Participate in oncall support and incident resolution as needed.
Configure Network File Systems (NFS) and mount points.
Create and manage Cron jobs for system and application tasks.
Skills Experience and Capabilities:
Technical Experience:
Strong experience working in complex networked system environments.
Expertise in managing and administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.

Red Hat performance tuning

Strong team collaboration and leadership capabilities.
Effective communication with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Ability to:
Interface with users and helpdesk personnel.
Provide expertise in backup/recovery and networking methodologies.
Troubleshoot issues at the OS database and application levels.
