Job Description
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position is nonsupervisory and works parttime during the school year with the option to work extra hours during school breaks/holidays. Duties include maintaining the facility and projects as needed.
Facilities:
- Complete routine maintenance tasks as assigned
- Assist Facilities Supervisor with special projects as needed
- Perform and document quality inspections based on Facilities Quality System requirements
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks to include: grounds care common areas trash and recycling safety inspections monthly and quarterly inspections and routine and preventative maintenance as assigned
- Communicate with supervisor when issues occur
Safety:
- Follow all safety policies
- Maintain Work Practices:
- Maintain work environment to 5S standards
- Punctual: begins work on time and returns from lunch and breaks on time
- All paperwork and database entries filled out completely and accurately
- Promote a positive team atmosphere with coworkers
Marginal Job Functions:
- Other projects as assigned
Education:
- High school/Post postsecondary education students
Experience:
- Construction and facilities class focus and some experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of Hand and Power Tools.
Other Requirements:
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly 50 lbs occasionally and 70 lbs as a team lift or with material handling equipment
Skills:
- Gain knowledge of facilities systems and equipment
- Generate requests for proposals to analyze new products services and pricing available to JHTNA
- Learn and incorporate the 5S program
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of initiative and a sense of urgency demonstrated by accomplishing tasks improving current work processes and assisting others when necessary.
- Unwavering attention to detail and commitment to worldclass quality
- Ability to embrace deadlines.
- Able to project a positive and professional demeanor to all internal and external contacts
