Job Description

Vacancy Temporary SLP Jumpstart Teacher

Teachers needed to support Hampton Jumpstart (students entering kindergarten) for the Rochester Community Schools. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until they are filled.

Teachers will be expected to implement innovative instructional techniques that will lead to improved student achievement. Emphasis will be given to higherlevel thinking skills organizational skills integrating knowledge connecting learning to prior knowledge cooperative learning learner active participation and technology integration. Brief anecdotal summaries will also be provided for the fall classroom teacher. The actual number of positions depends on the number of enrolled students.

Hampton

Room set up August 8th 9 am 11 am

August 11th August 13th

Hours: 8 am 11 am and 12 pm 3 pm

August 14th 9 am 11 am

Interviews will be held at the start of May by the building administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
  2. Desire to work with atrisk students.
  3. Willingness to work with students who need to be academically challenged.
  4. Must be available to work the entire length of the program.

SALARY:

$1100 stipend (funded Early Literacy grant) contingent on all designated working days and will be adjusted accordingly if all working days are unmet. $50/hr x 22 hours

Selection of an individual to fill these temporary positions will be determined by the Summer Learning Program administrators based upon applicant experience qualifications and professional attributes.

Due to the high volume of applicants for positions within Rochester Community Schools it is not possible to personally contact every interested candidate. After a detailed paper screening of all candidate credentials is completed only applicants who will be invited to interview will receive contact from the Program Supervisor.
