ABOUT YOU

You are a Forensic Engineer with an interest in supporting a team of experts by providing casespecific technical expertise in the Coordinating Engineer role. You have advanced knowledge and education in one or more of the following forensic areas: Accident Reconstruction including pedestrian/vehicle collisions and other modes of transportation Who was Driving investigations and Heavy Truck Event Data Recorder (Black Box) analysis among other areas); Biomechanical and Human Factors (Analysis of how injuries occurred and do injuries correlate to the nature of the incident. Includes slip trip fall analysis). Failure Analysis (product mechanical systems structural etc..

You are dedicated to coordinating and performing tasks that support the case and the entire forensic team. You enjoy inspecting evidence and utilizing the latest technologies and software. You are comfortable presenting technical lectures to audiences large and small. You have a can do attitude and are passionate about the field of forensics. This role may support experts in any one or all of the following expert areas: accident reconstruction failure analysis or biomechanical engineering/injury causation analysis.

HOW YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESS OF THE CASE TEAM AND THE COMPANY

  • Provide project support to experts who are investigating and analyzing accidents failures and injuries.
  • Participate in inspections (often onsite) with the expert team and observe the expert documenting the physical evidence.
  • Utilize 3D laser scanners and other leading softwareto assist with forensic analysis.
  • Assist with preservation of physical evidence.
  • Observe the process of researching reconstructing and analyzing all of the facts to determine what happened with your assigned cases.
  • Observe the lifecycle of a case from the initial investigation and digital preservation of the evidence to performing testing as instructed by the expert(s).
  • Assist and support the experts with predeposition and pretrial preparation of exhibits and reports.
  • Assist the experts with data collection for publication in technical journals.
  • Participate in the research and development of innovative research methodologies for publication in technical journals.
  • Attend and conduct technical lectures as assigned to various audiences/groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineer Biomedical Engineering or Biomechanical Engineering or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
  • PE license is a plus.
  • ACTAR Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of any combination of kinematics failure analysis or accident reconstruction.
  • Ability to perform vehicle site and evidence inspections utilizing the latest in 3D scanning technology and software conduct testing and collect corresponding data.

  • Perform event data recorder (EDR) and advanced driverassistance systems (ADAS) data downloads.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to field environments to courtroom environments.
  • You are an excellent communicator of technical findings.
  • You have a passion for cause/effect analysis and have an intense curiosity to explore physical evidence.
  • You are passionate about engaging in all learning opportunities.
  • You enjoy opportunities to present and conduct technical lectures to all audiences.
