Our client a dedicated notforprofit organization committed to providing free meals to those in need is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to use your financial expertise to support an impactful cause in the heart of the community.
As CFO you will oversee the financial operations ensuring compliance transparency and sustainability while supporting strategic decisionmaking to maintain and grow the organization s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations & Compliance: Manage payroll superannuation contributions and ensure timely settlement of ATO liabilities. Oversee the approval of incoming bills and ensure all tax obligations are met.
- Receivables & Invoicing: Monitor accounts receivable follow up on outstanding payments and ensure accurate invoicing and payment tagging.
- Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Track organizational spending ensure adherence to budget and investigate any unusual transactions. Maintain oversight of cash flow recurring liabilities and ensure timely payments.
- Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provide necessary transaction and bank statements to bookkeepers ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and respond to inquiries for financial accuracy.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and deliver regular financial reports to the Board of Directors assist auditors during audits and provide key financial insights to guide decisionmaking and ensure financial transparency.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
- 5 years experience in a senior financial role ideally within a nonprofit or communitybased organization.
- Strong understanding of Australian financial regulations (ATO superannuation) ASIC and ACNC frameworks.
- Proven expertise in financial planning analysis reporting and policy development.
- Proficiency in Xero MS Excel/Google Sheets and ideally Salesforce.
- Strong leadership with a focus on driving results improving internal controls and building team success.
- High standards of ethics and integrity with a commitment to the organization s mission.
- Accountable reliable and able to meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
