Job Description
Job Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse to join our team. This role is essential in providing highquality patient care before during and after interventional radiology procedures. The IR Nurse will work closely with radiologists technologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
- Provide preprocedure patient education assessment and consent verification.
- Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients vital signs during procedures.
- Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Assist with postprocedure care including patient recovery and discharge instructions.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed including contrast reactions and sedationrelated complications.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in compliance with hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care emergency nursing or interventional radiology preferred.
- BLS ACLS and PALS certifications required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience with moderate sedation and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
- Strong communication teamwork and problemsolving skills.
