Job Description

Responsible for material setup OD parts catalogues inventory management and direction of Maintenance Personnel in a daily support basis. Responsible for guiding initial shop setup virtual and onsite training as well as ongoing support to Maintenance Personnel in all shops.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies and qualifies individual items to be purchased based on quality and OEM specs
  • Assist the shops in establishing maintaining and monitoring required records in SAP to promote recommended ordering stocking of parts and supplies
  • Focused on training the field of how to properly manage parts and supply levels through all available resources
  • Focused on training of how to use OEM websites and work efficiently to maximize shop productivity
  • Develop training materials and directs service center Maintenance Personnel on how to utilize various systems related to maintain the fleet
  • Ensure the field has an understanding of KPIs and reporting to assist the field in maximizing efficiency
  • Contributes to initial service center parts room layout setup and updates as necessary due to changes in equipment type number or configuration plus changes in approved parts for each application
  • Train the field on how to establish proper levels for stocking inventory and supplies based on number and configuration of vehicles to be serviced and prior usage and projected usage volumes
  • Provides guidance in reconciliation of book to physical inventory through cycle count administration
  • Train the field how to monitor and manage usage and discusses issues involving excessive usage substandard quality lost freight incorrect receiving and similar issues with the field and in some cases suppliers or manufacturers
  • Provides administrative direction and training involving Old Dominions data systems relative to parts supplies credits and necessary administrative functions
  • Travel is required and may be up to 50
  • Conducts field audits as needed

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience

Experience:

  • Four years of experience in transportation maintenance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of fleet components parts and supplies
  • Knowledge of vendor warranty programs
  • Must be selfdriven and highly motivated
  • Must be able to work patiently with others and teach new skillsets

Preferred:

  • SAP experience
  • Inventory and or accounting experience in the transportation industry
