Job Description
Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Communication The student worker will develop communication skills in a variety of ways. They will learn through their interaction with employees staff and supervisor while fulfilling their daily responsibilities. Students will also communicate and interact with other departments which will develop their customer service skills. Teamwork Student workers will develop teamwork skills by working with individuals where collaboration working together and sharing ideas are necessary. Job Description: The student worker will assist Physical Plant team members with: Custodial duties as needed which includes : trash removal replenishing/delivering supplies vacuuming mopping sweeping dusting window washing and other duties as needed. Grounds work as needed which includes : minor landscaping tasks such as mowing trimming and edging lawns and landscaped areas. Water plants shrubs trees and flower beds and clean outdoor areas as needed. Remove litter and debris from sidewalks parking lots and outdoor spaces. Assist with planting weeding fertilizing and mulching flower beds and shrubbery. Maintain and clean grounds maintenance equipment. Assist with special projects such as campus beautification or seasonal tasks. Maintenance duties as needed which includes : Assist with routine maintenance tasks including minor repairs to plumbing electrical HVAC systems and general building upkeep. Assist with tasks such as painting patching drywall replacing light bulbs maintaining the cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage rooms hanging ceiling tile apartment renovations job site clean up and vehicle maintenance. May also assist with event setups and breakdowns . Must be able to perform duties with limited supervision while efficiently completing daily responsibilities.
Physical Demands
Occasional Lifting Must be able to keep up with the demands of the building. Occasional dusty conditions Occasional work in unconditioned spaces Occasional work in outdoor setting
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift 50 pounds must be able to ascend and descend stairs and a day to day basis in building where no elevators are provided must be able to articulate/implement University policies rules and regulations
