You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Director position serves at the pleasure of the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The Director will hold the Iowa Egg Council Endowed Professorship for a 5year renewable term. The position will be a 9month appointment with twomonths summer salary provided while serving as EIC director. The effort will be approximately 40 administrative 55 research and 5 institutional service. As part of the research expectations the faculty member will be expected to lead a nationally recognized research program to advance science and management in the egg sector and garner extramural funding while training and mentoring graduate students. Some limited teaching may be possible within the context of the other responsibilities. The Director will represent the college and university and will require periodic overnight travel.
A PhD in agricultural engineering animal science poultry science or related discipline is required.
Candidates must meet requirements for rank at Associate or Full Professor with tenure in an academic department within the CALS.
A strong understanding of the egg industry and the supply chains it involves
Demonstrated experience leading a research program
Experience in budget and/or office management
Experience in attracting competitive funding
Experience mentoring administrative staff graduate students scientists and/or technicians
Leadership experience interacting with agricultural commodity organizations and stakeholders to bring value to their organizations through collaboration and partnership
