As an IT Support Technician you will play a vital role in ensuring our users have a seamless technology experience. You will provide exceptional technical support prioritize customer satisfaction collaborate with crossfunctional teams and contribute to standardization efforts across the College and University. Your expertise and dedication will be essential in maintaining our highquality IT support services.
In this position youll have an opportunity to shine as a key member of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences IT Team. Each LAS IT team member provides primary support for one or more departments units or areas and provides backup support to their IT team members as needed. College IT units provide IT services for departments programs labs administration and researchers.
This position will be hired as a Information Technology Support I or II depending on the candidates experience.
For the Information Technology Support I the required minimum qualification is a High school diploma or equivalent. The pay grade is a PS806.
Information Technology Support II the required minimum qualification is a High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience . The pay grade is a PS807.
Example of Duties
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for various hardware software operating systems equipment and applications.
Respond to technical support requests.
Deploy hardware install software and run diagnostic programs.
Prepare documentation.
Diagnose technical problems via discussions with users and colleagues.
Research and purchase hardware or other equipment.
May refer complex or advanced issues to senior or centralized staff.
May train or oversee student employees.
Level Guidelines
Entry level position acquiring job skills and learning standard operating procedures and policies to complete tasks
Works under relatively close supervision and receives guidance on new work assignments
Works on assignments which are routine in nature requiring limited judgment
Refers difficult or less routine issues to supervisor or higherlevel staff for assistance
May provide guidance to students
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
