Job Description:
This position will supervise the MaineDOT Environmental Office Natural Resources Division and oversee the federal responsibility granted to MaineDOT for fisheries and wildlife and environmental laws and executive orders. The position will supervise staff responsible for planning coordinating and implementing the responsibility for natural resources fisheries wildlife state and federal endangered species resource identification and aquatic organism passage as it relates to MaineDOT project development maintenance state and federal agency coordination/consultation and the public.
This position will assist the Senior Environmental Manager in recommending actions and development of policy and will implement program policies and initiatives in support of MaineDOT goals and provide substantive advice on MaineDOTs Natural Resources Programs. This position will be the lead on important natural resource programs intended to minimize project delivery risk by creating and managing programmatic processes. This position will also direct and manage staff to ensure state and federal natural resources fisheries and wildlife processes and approvals are completed in efficient and effective means.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence ofthe following experience:
A Bachelors Degree in Biology Wildlife Management or related field AND four 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a related biological field including experience in a supervisory related work experience may be substituted for education on a yearforyear basis.
