Job Description
Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply coop with diverse operations including feed production agronomy services and retail stores throughout the intermountain west. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Pesticide/Fertilizer Applicator at the IFA Agronomy Center in Garland Utah.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loading and mixing fertilizer and pesticide formulas.
- Ability to follow and interpret fertilizer and pesticide labels.
- Performing all applications in a timely manner and on schedule.
- Maintaining application logs and other records as necessary.
- Reading field maps and global positioning devices.
- Working around and handling hazardous materials properly.
- Performing daily inspection of equipment and minor repairs as needed.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed during the busy season will frequently include 1214 hour shifts during the springtime rush.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma GED or equivalent required. 3 years of applicator experience beneficial but not required. Must have and be able to maintain a current CDL license with the ability to drive applicator equipment. Current pesticide license required or the ability to obtain if hired. Able to lift 50 lbs. and/or 5 gallon cans of liquid frequently during shift. Able to calculate discounts percentages and liquid and solid measurements using basic math skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form. Must be detailoriented and selfmotivated.
