Experience teaching students with socialemotional and behavioral challenges is SummaryUnder the general supervision of the High School Special Education Administrator the position involves working with students in grades 912 who are identified as having an Emotional Disturbance or Other Health Impaired and who are in the emotional support program (called theExpect Success Program ESP).The position requires the ability and flexibility to deliver services to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of students enrolled in the program and to work collaboratively with teachers related service personnel paraprofessionals parents administrators and area agencies. Moreover the position requires a strong understanding of the special education process excellent organizational skills the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the widely divergent needs of students connect with and build strong relationships with parents/families and case management responsibilites of students in the the position requires the ability to create an environment of respect and rapport to manage routines and procedures and to contribute to the culture of positive student behavior. Solid communication skills the ability to meet deadlines and a willingness to participate in a professional learning community are also essential.
