We are YSS!
Are you handy hardworking and love solving problems As a Facilities Technician at YSS youll be the goto person for keeping our spaces safe functional and looking great!
Youll tackle a variety of approved work ordersfrom general repairs to routine maintenance on our buildings furnishings and equipment. Youll help keep things running smoothly and jump in on preventative maintenance to stop problems before they start. And youll work alongside our Facilities Director to help coordinate projects support the team and supervise contractors when needed. Heres what youll be up to each day:
- Open and close office buildings as assigned.
- Meet daily with the Facilities Director and staff to coordinate activities.
- Utilize the work order ticketing system and facility management system.
- Conduct daytoday maintenance operations for assigned buildings and parking lots.
- Support preventive maintenance and seasonal readiness programs for all locations.
- Use power equipment and miscellaneous tools for repairs and maintenance.
- Travel to provide services to outreach operations as required.
- Answer emergency calls evenings weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Coordinate communicate and supervise vendors contractors and staff as assigned by the Director.
- Inventory and document equipment on a quarterly basis.
- Purchase approved supplies/materials as required.
- Operate office equipment such as phones computers copiers and other tools as needed.
- Assist the Director with quarterly building reports.
- Assist with the contract bidding processes.

MUST HAVES Required Qualifications
- Youve got at least 2 years of handson experience in the trades.
- Carpentry constructioncustodial work electrical HVAC maintenance painting plumbing do a little bit of everything:
- If it breaks you can fix it. Better yet you can take care of it soit doesnt break in the first place.
- Youve got a valid Iowa drivers license and a reliable way to get where you need to be.
SHOULD HAVES Preferred Qualifications
- Youve got ahigh school diploma or equivalent.
- You spot what needs fixing and without waiting to be told you jump right in to take care of it!
- You can juggle multiple tasks like a pro without breaking a sweat.
- People like working with youyoure friendly teamoriented and know how to keep customers happy.
- Youre a critical thinker and a natural problem solver.
- You know how to make the most of your tools time and teamsmart efficient and resourceful.
The IDEAL Candidate:
- Youve got away with wordswhether in person oremailing you know how to get the message across clearly.
- Youve used work order or ticketing systemsmakingsure nothing slips through the cracks.
