The basics of this position:

The position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities including participation in curriculum and course development course budget preparation departmental planning and attending departmental campus and collegewide meetings. The faculty member will actively engage in committee participation provide student mentoring and deliver didactic and clinical instruction at either the Forest Park or Florissant Valley campus. Additional responsibilities include coordinating or cocoordinating dental hygiene clinic and laboratory courses preparing course materials and performing other duties as assigned. The faculty members course assignments will be determined by the program chair and assistant chair in line with their education expertise and preparation.

Education experience and other requirements:
Graduate of a Dental Hygiene Program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and Minimum of three 3 years fulltime or fulltime equivalent of clinical Dental Hygiene experience and Current Certification in Healthcare Provider CPR and
Current Dental Hygiene licensure in Missouri with infiltration and block anesthesia and nitrous oxide certifications or eligible for licensure in Missouri and eligible for infiltration and block anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification and
Significant continuing education and professional development activities in subject matter and dental hygiene education methodology and Current American Dental Hygienists Association membership and Masters degree with at least thirty 30 approved graduate semester hours in education or subject field
or
Bachelors degree with major in subject field or education and dental hygiene college teaching experience and
A commitment to matriculate and complete a masters degree in education or subject field within five 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the minimum required qualifications ideal candidates will demonstrate deeper experience with:
Minimum of five 5 years clinical Dental Hygiene experience and
Masters degree with at least thirty 30 approved graduate semester hours in education or subject field and two 2 years of fulltime or fulltime equivalent college teaching experience
