Work Arrangement

OnSite: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren MI. This role will have consistent travel to Factory Zero.

The Role

We are seeking a Zone Manufacturing Engineer to join our GA organization. In this role you will be responsible for leading the development of manufacturing processes designing equipment and tooling integrating equipment and overseeing the installation and validation of tooling and equipment in the plant to ensure a smooth transition to steadystate production.
Key requirements include the effective utilization of personnel materials machines and facilities necessary for flawless . Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering facility as well as the assembly plant requiring a high level of independent judgment. The candidate will be responsible for adhering to GM standard processes collaborating with our strategic suppliers for equipment implementation and working with plant personnel and other stakeholders throughout the program launch phases.

What Youll Do

  • Leading all new programs model changes and current production in a specific area.
  • Define all areas of change which include product and manufacturing requirements (tooling workstation setup facility and etc.
  • Lead responsibility of assigned zone within plant which includes ensuring all tooling conveyor material and automation requirements are met per launch timeline.
  • Develop interfaces and work with cross functional teams to develop / define common tooling and process across whole department and other groups
  • Develop tooling SORs
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
  • Design construction integration plant installation successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of highquality parts.
  • Support build events at the plant
  • Address launch issues
  • Work will involve some weekends travel which may be extensive at times and potential off shift timeframes
  • Participating in Program financials

Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 2 Years Experience in Automotive Manufacturing Launch Processes
  • 2 Year Experience in GA Tooling & Equipment
  • Knowledge and expertise in process engineering disciplines specifically related to automotive manufacturing and general assembly operations.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in ensuring safety compliance and adherence to manufacturing processes during the launch of new programs
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience

  • AutoDesk CAD
  • Teamcenter Visualization
  • Knowledge of the Global Launch Process and Vehicle Development Process
  • Knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
