First (Days)Overview:
Sentara is hiring a Radiation Therapist at Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach. This position will provide coverage for Sentara hospitals in Hampton Norfolk Suffolk Virginia Beach and Elizabeth City.
Hours: PRN
Overview
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:
Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include 3D IMRT SRS/SBRT)
Deliver brachytherapy treatment
Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment such as immobilization treatment and
protection devices
Reviewing patient records for accuracy
Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
Maintaining patient records reports and files
All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.
Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.
Education
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED
Certification/Licensure
- Required to pass boards within 6months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90days of hire
