Job Description

Position Overview & Responsibilities:

The NGF Service Manager is directly responsibility for the care monitoring and performance of Christensen Farms operations across assigned sites. This role supports and collaborates with team members throughout the WeantoFinish and Grow/Finish production system to ensure optimal animal health productivity and team performance.


Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Provide onsite service and oversight in accordance with established protocols and performance standards.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate service reports in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain regular clear and effective communication with Farm Managers regarding animal health and production updates training development performance management safety concerns and turnover risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by partnering with Farm Managers to analyze and enhance:
    • Production KPIs and closeout results
    • Site/flow performance and variation reduction
    • Employee retention and onboarding processes
    • Training safety and marketing
    • Pig movements and DOA (Dead on Arrival) metrics
  • Provide input to the recruitment process and assist with the hiring orientation and training of new employees within assigned sites.
  • Align with the Area General Manager to share strategies and proposed improvements across all areas of responsibility.
  • Establish routine communications and prepare visit objectives for Area General Manager site visits.
  • Ensure adherence to Christensen Farms Animal WellBeing and Euthanasia policies.
  • Enforce biosecurity protocols and report any breaches to the appropriate departments.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for nonfeed cost savings within assigned pods/flows.
  • Leverage internal resources such as veterinary staff HR and Area General Managers to drive results.
  • Provide timely accurate updates to internal teams and leadership.
  • Contribute to the planning and of broader business strategies.

Education Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum formal education required: Some college within an agriculturebased major is preferred.
  • Minimum number of years of prior job experience required: Minimum 35 years swine production experience
  • Requires an individual that has outstanding attention to detail and organizational ability. Basic computer skills/knowledge is required. Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Display a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment.
