Position Overview:
Coral Academy of Science Reno is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop critical reading writing and communication skills foster a love for literature and prepare students for academic success in college and beyond. This position may include instruction in general ELA courses and honors or APlevel classes depending on experience and licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging standardsaligned ELA instruction for high school students (grades 912.
Develop and implement lessons that promote literacy analytical thinking and effective writing.
Assess student learning regularly and use data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect collaboration and academic excellence.
Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning.
Collaborate with colleagues in PLCs and contribute to interdisciplinary projects and schoolwide initiatives.
Communicate regularly with families students and staff regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
Participate in school events professional development and required staff meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in English Education or a closely related field (required).
Valid Nevada teaching license in Secondary English or eligibility to obtain licensure by August 2025 (required).
Masters degree or advanced coursework in education or English (preferred).
Experience teaching high school ELA including honors or AP courses (preferred).
Strong knowledge of ELA standards instructional strategies and assessment methods.
Excellent classroom management communication and organizational skills.
