The Eugene Water & Electric Board seeks a Civil Geotechnical or Dam Safety Engineer to join EWEBs Dam Safety team in support of EWEBs Owners Dam Safety Program (ODSP). Team responsibilities include but are not limited to dam safety public safety environmental and regulatory compliance. This position will open on April 18th 2025 and remain open until filled.
EWEBs Dam Safety team is responsible for dam safety projects including implementation of EWEBs Owners Dam Safety Program Emergency Action Plan analysis of surveillance and monitoring instrumentation data dam safety inspections on dams canals and appurtenant structures and so much more.
This position will lead plan and coordinate work with internal partners (operations generation engineering license deployment and environmental staff) and external partners (regulators consultants contractors emergency management agencies and resource agencies). Selfstarting is a must! Responsibilities include a variety of site inspections construction observation and documentation project management contract management engineering evaluations and reviews. Knowledge of instrumentation data processing and analysis is a plus. Your working environment will consist of a combination of office and site work. EWEB owns and operates two hydroelectric projects on the McKenzie River (CarmenSmith and LeaburgWalterville Projects) and owns one hydroelectric project on the Clackamas (Stone Creek Project).
The successful candidate will possess following skillset:
Preference will be given for applicants with geotechnical dam safety experience and experience and understanding of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) guidelines requirements and dam safety industry standards.
EWEB intends to fill one position at the Engineering Associate II III Staff or Senior level.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting annual salary for this position based on job level is commensurate with the selected candidates knowledge skills education and experience as relates to the position.

Staff Engineer & Engineering Associate III:$103821.71 $129777.14
Engineering Associate II: $89685.09 $112106.37

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Equivalency: EWEB will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience when reviewing applications. Candidates who do not meet all of the minimum qualifications but whose application materials demonstrate the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to be successful in the position are encouraged to apply. Mechanical or Electrical Engineers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Educational requirement for all position levels: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
Recommended Experience for all position levels: Experience working on Dam Safety or geotechnical projects. Familiarity with Federal Energy Regulatory (FERC) guidelines requirements and dam safety industry standards.
Oregon drivers license: Yes or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

WORK LOCATION
This position is based inEugene Oregon and has been approved for hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working onsite at EWEB offices and field project selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
