Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Join the Health Care Evaluation Department at NORC as our newest Research Director! Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of one of the nations most respected research institutions significantly impacting NORCs success and service to our clients during a time of strategic Research Director will direct portions of program and policy projects related to Medicare and/or Medicaid including projects involving policy analysis focus groups literature reviews structured interviews with stakeholders (including health care providers insurers policymakers and patients) and quantitative analysis.

NORC recognizes that talented and skilled researchers live throughout the U.S. and actively supports remote work arrangements. Occasional trips to client sites or the office may be required.

DEPARTMENT:Health Care EvaluationRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as task manager on health policy research projects
  • Manage the daytoday performance of members of the project team
  • Supervise the design of data collection methodologies procedures and questionnaires to implement studies as specified by the client and the project director
  • Supervise the organization of secondary data (reports from the field program records transferred from the client social media data acquisition etc.
  • Interact with clients to report on progress discuss contractual matters resolve challenges and allay any concerns and provide information and recommendations
  • Ensure and manage on a limited basis staff mentorship technical and professional assistance and other feedback on performance of project/task team members.
  • Engage in business development activities including authoring sections of technical and business proposals
  • Manage project schedules budgets staff workload and client relations in conjunction with Project Leadership
  • Review project deliverables and ensure quality control including auditing and correcting data files ensuring management of grantee data and overseeing data acquisition protocols.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelors degree in social sciences or related field required; Masters degree in Public Health Health Policy Public Policy preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in positions of increasing responsibility in evaluation research policy analysis survey research or related field
  • Some experience in client communications and relationship management
  • Familiarity of the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs including delivery system reform provider payment access to care and beneficiary experience
  • Experience with conducting policy analysis in a government or professional services environment
  • Experience with and knowledge of the principles of quantitative and qualitative research design data collection and data analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and aptitude in leading and working with project teams coordinating multiple projects (including those run by others within NORC)
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office software
  • Ability toorganize and prioritize work assignments to meet project needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Occasional travel for site visits and meetings
