Job Description

GEICOs Enterprise Engineering team is seeking an experienced Staff Engineering Operations with a passion for content management and building solutions with complex systems & tooling across multiple departments and teams. Staff Engineer will be a key contributor in guiding the strategy and engineering work within the newly formed Associate Experience Portal team responsible for planning prioritizing and leading implementations within the Associate Experience domain. This role requires strong design experience thought leadership and your abilities to build and scale your program team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in applying program & project management skills content management expertise search experience and business acumen while collaborating with engineering peers and a wide variety of business and technical stakeholders. Timely delivery of impactful projects that enhance GEICOs legal service delivery will be a focus.

As a Staff Engineering Operations you will:

  • Leverage experience in CMS delivery (e.g. content document and knowledge management content workflow automation authoring governance AI eDiscovery etc. to enhance existing applications or build new ones to support the Associate Experience.
  • Partner with your Executive and technical leadership the business and tech stakeholders and delivery teams to build a roadmap release quality solutions on time and within budget
  • Help streamline content processes and drive towards a personalized enterprise associate experience strategy creating a seamless launching point for all associates into portals and services across GEICO
  • Create maintain and actively manage a detailed project schedule change control process and documentation while coordinating project managers and activities across multiple systems departments and teams
  • Report on your progress for key projects and other important measurables in addition to presenting detailed plans to mitigate identified project risks at regular intervals
  • Craft and deliver strategic and wellstructured persuasive arguments to drive projects that drive process improvement enhance cost leadership and/or customer experience
  • Engage in crossfunctional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle and across Engineering to solve our toughest problems
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in the legal technology space
  • Help support the transformation of GEICOs insurance business as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission.

Qualifications

  • Strong program product & project management skills with proven experience coordinating projects across multiple teams with successful delivery at scale
  • Strong content management systems and search solutions or similar domains to appropriately interpret requirements into system solutions while understanding how requirements and design choices may impact systems across the enterprise
  • Ability to understand legal processes to ensure data integrations and solutions are well designed
  • Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and various Business operations with a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong critical thinking problem solving decision making and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills including the ability to clearly document findings proposals issues and status
  • Experience contributing to a roadmap reporting out on project status and assessing (then mitigating) areas of timeline or budget risk
  • Demonstrated track record of constructing interpreting and applying metrics to your work and decision making with ability to use those metrics to identify correlation between drivers and results and using that information todrive prioritization and action
  • Proficiency in work item management tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments
  • An ownership mentality while navigating a fastpaced environment where priorities can change quickly
  • A genuine interest to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and across organizational and geographic boundaries

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in program management project management or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in managing largescale projects working in or closely with corporate communications and content management or a similar field
  • Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience within insurance industry is a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma PMI/PMP or Scrum certifications are a plus

Education

  • Bachelors Degree with a focus in technology computing engineering business administration or related field; or equivalent experience


Annual Salary

$115000.00 $230000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role the selected candidates work experience education and training the work location as well as market and business considerations.
