Job Description

Systems Service Engineering Manager

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Customer Support is seeking a Systems Service Engineering Manager (Level K) for Propulsion and Environmental Control Systems (ECS) to join our team in Seal Beach CA. In this role you will be responsible for delivering inservice technical support for both inproduction and outofproduction Boeing Commercial Airplane models ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview:

As the firstline leader you will be responsible for addressing inservice technical issues and fleet concerns related to Environmental Control Systems (ECS) including Pneumatics High/Low Pressure Distribution Systems Cabin Pressure and Fire Protection as well as Propulsion Structures and Systems such as Nacelles Fuels Main Engines and APU. This fastpaced position requires quick reactions resilience and adaptability. You will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers suppliers stakeholders peers global teammates and direct reports.

In this leadership role you will provide oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes while managing developing and motivating your team. The position will involve some travel (domestic and international) to collaborate with program leaders customers suppliers and other organizations. Flexibility is essential as you will need to support emergent issues and attend important Airline Customer meetings outside of regular hours which may include occasional offshift work to support the 24x7 operation of the fleet.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Leads of Engineering activities to ensure first time quality and ontime performance.

  • Responsible for of service engineering and solutions by supplier and other Boeing organizations including Boeing Global Teams

  • Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.

  • Acquires resources for department activities provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.

  • Manages develops and motivates employees by modeling Boeing Values.

  • Coaches counsels mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.

  • Inspires employees by championing forwardthinking and innovative solutions.

  • Proactively communicates with employees peers and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating project status conducting and participating in team meetings providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions.

  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.

  • Systematically evaluates proper job classification of employees sets employee priorities manages and evaluates performance to plan on a reoccurring basis.

  • Provides oversight on technical approaches related to inservice issues and solves problems/issues for our customers on Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100 selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Seal Beach CA

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.

  • 2 years of experience leading engineering teams

  • 3 years of experience working with internal or external stakeholders (e.g. business partners customers Finance suppliers etc.

  • Experience in leading crossfunctional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion.

  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability in team building coaching and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.

  • Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments.

  • Excellent program management skills with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
