About this role:

The Lead Test Engineer position design build review and automation of test cases. As well as directly manages a QA team of individuals and provides leadership in the development of test strategies.

What you will do:

• Develop test plans and strategies and ensure the development and of test case meet project goals and QA standards.

• Ensure the overall quality reliability and performance of products by managing the design and reporting of testing activities including functional and nonfunctional testing like performance DB and API testing.

• Lead functional testing of new requirements and enhancements of applications.

• Ensure delivery against Quality Engineering department goals and objectives meeting commitments.

• Provide clear and detailed status including metrics assess and mitigate risks to ensure timely delivery with excellent quality.

• Work with Software Development Managers to stay ahead of application quality and delivery process gaps.

• Strong exposure on UI API and DB automation such as experience in development of new test framework

• Hands on experience in implementation of automation test solutions and maintenance to ease out manual testing.

• Experience in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/Gitlab to help building / configuring continuous integration tool to reduce testing cycle.

• Implement best practices including a variety of different testing protocols tools and metrics.

• Support and contribute to building strong quality infrastructure capabilities.

• Maintenance of regression and follow up with dev Team.

• Deliver high quality software solutions using a predictable delivery process.

• Drive innovation and integration of modern technologies into frameworks and activities in the software test architecture to increase the performance and efficiency of the Quality Engineering department.

• Sound knowledge of methodologies and approaches such as Agile BDD DevOps etc.

• Actively work with project managers developers and client teams to align test strategies with project goals and customer requirements.

• Identify track and prioritize defect with right severities; work collaboratively with technical teams to resolve issues swiftly and effectively.

What you will need:

Strong IT professional with 710 years of experience in software testing (websites and/or mobile applications). The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative critical thinking skills along with high on ownership and accountability.

Must have:

• 7 years of experience in QA with 5 years in automation testing including a minimum of 1 years in a management position.

• Experience implementing and enforcing standards for manual and automated testing.

• Experience leading automation scripting and expertise in Java and/or JavaScript.

• Experience with multiple industry standard test automation tools such as Selenium and/or Playwright.

• Experience in estimation prioritization and planning/coordination of QA activities in a Scrum environment

• Proficiency optimizing test case management and defect management software and processes including JIRA.

• Solid experience in SQL queries and database testing.

• Strong attention to details enduser quality and usability

• Experience leading project teams as well as coaching and developing direct reports and partnering with managers of other teams or domain areas.

• Experience in developing/maintaining Test automation frameworks.

• Experience in integrating test suites with tools in the DevOps/CICD pipelines GIT Jenkins etc.

• Proven record in design development and operations of automation framework processes methodologies for diverse environments solutions and products

• Selfmotivator and excellent problem solver

• Ability to adapt and pivot priorities based on the business needs and willingness to learn modern technologies and techniques.

Good to have:

• Hands on exposure to AI driven testing.

• Hands on experience in Nightwatch Playwright JUnit TestNG JMeter Cucumber Appium Postman and Report Portal

• Hands on experience with cloud service platforms is a plus (Azure)

• Deep knowledge of design patterns best code practices and automation industry trends as well as Continuous Integration concepts and tools.

• Experience with Performance and Mobile testing

• Experience using various bug tracking tools such as Jira and test management tools such as Xray.

• Graduate/Postgraduate in BE/B tech ME/MTech or MCA are preferred.
