Role:

Rystad Energy is seeking a passionate and skilled Analyst to join our Commodity Markets Oil team within the rapidly expanding global Analyst division.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering highquality fundamental analysis on global and regional crude oil supply and trade flows. Youll play an integral part in strengthening our commodity oil market coverage by tracking geopolitical and economic developments engaging with internal and external stakeholders and contributing to key research deliverables product development and client support.

You will be expected to interpret shifting market dynamics adapt your analysis accordingly and provide forwardlooking insights into the potential impact on crude supply and global trade flows. A key focus will be on integrating robust data analytics with realtime market intelligence to support clients and internal strategy.

At the core of our market research lies a rich foundation of proprietary data advanced inhouse modeling tools and a deep understanding of market mechanisms and physical flows driving the oil sector and broader energy landscape.

Tasks

  • Maintain and enhance highquality datasets related to global crude oil production trade flows supply outagesensuring accuracy consistency and timely updates.
  • Monitor and interpret global oil supply trends including upstream production refined product availability inventory movements and price signals.
  • Collaborate with clients across regions addressing queries and delivering market insights tailored to their strategic and commercial needs.
  • Track and maintain global crude oil supply data including production by country upstream outages and OPEC/nonOPEC production targets and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of commodity market products focused on oil supplyidentifying new opportunities and working with technical teams to enhance data offerings and visualizations.
  • Prepare and deliver market commentaries periodic updates presentation decks and custom research pieces for both internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. upstream demand refining) to align supply assumptions and enhance the integrated market view
  • Assist senior analysts with routine reporting and adhoc requests including written content quantitative models and executiveready visuals.
  • Maintain active involvement in client interactions workshops and product demos ensuring feedback is gathered and incorporated into continuous product improvement.


Requirements

We are looking for motivated candidates with a strong academic track record an analytical mindset and quantitative skills to strengthen our regional oil balance team.

  • A university degree (Master or Bachelor) in Engineering Economics Finance Mathematics Statistics Physics or similar is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the oil market with 2 4 years of experience in similar role covering crude supply & trade flows in commodity market oil
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Experience with oil price data and information providers such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv/Eikon or S&P Global (former Platts) is a plus
  • Experience in Commodity Market Oil with a focus on crude and trade flows would be preferable.
  • Basic understanding about the crude market and trade flows market is desirable.
  • Knowledge of database design SQL and Python (or similar) is a plus
  • Understands the importance of attention to detail in composing a complete and representative picture of the commodities market
  • Proactive independent openminded and creative
