POSITION SUMMARY

The Implementation Consultant will support efforts to plan and implement quality standards evidencebased programs and systemlevel projects in child and youth mental health and substance use health. They will provide coaching and guidance to the Knowledge Institute and its partners including Ontarios lead agencies and service area partners. The consultant will also create tools and products to share the latest knowledge about implementation science. A strong knowledge base skills and experience in this field are essential acquired through both training and practical work.

Reporting to the Manager Implementation and Evaluation the Implementation Consultant will coordinate their work with other Knowledge Institute staff and leadership team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead teams to implement change using an implementation science approach within the Knowledge Institute and across child and youth mental health and addictions agencies (CYMHA).

  • Apply expertise in implementation science by developing implementation supports (i.e. coaching model and resources) for the Knowledge Institute to deploy to the CYMHA sector.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and project teams in CYMHA agencies across the province as they work to implement quality standards quality guidelines or evidencebased programs/practices.

  • Act as an internal expert to Knowledge Institute and sector colleagues on implementation matters.

  • Deliver training using a variety of adult learning modalities for the child and youth mental health and addictions sector based on needs assessments and knowledge of best practices.

  • Plan develop and deliver training on implementation science topics to CYMHA service providers and leaders across the province either in person or virtually.

  • Evaluate trainings and make improvements to the content and/or delivery as required.

  • Create customize and modify existing implementation science materials for the child and youth mental health and addictions sector based on needs assessments and knowledge of best practices.

  • Lead the development of implementationrelated knowledge products and tools that meet the needs of stakeholders.

  • Work with other Knowledge Institute team members (e.g. communications team) as required in product development.

  • Establish and maintain provincial networks and partnerships.

  • Lead or participate in key provincial or regional efforts communities of practice or networks relating to the implementation of quality standards quality guidelines or evidencebased programs/practices in the child and youth mental health and addictions sector.

  • Convene regional and/or provincial networks to inform the alignment of implementation practices/processes.

  • Develop implement and evaluate new partnerships relating to the implementation of quality standards quality guidelines or evidencebased programs/practices in the child and youth mental health and addictions sector.

  • Work closely with the Knowledge Institutes leadership team on the development of its operational and project plans.

  • Participate in the development implementation and evaluation of Knowledge Institute programs and initiatives to respond to emerging needs of the sector and to strengthen or enhance Knowledge Institute programs.

  • Recommend areas of improvement within the Knowledge Institutes implementation practices/processes as required.

  • Maintain documentation of activities as per Knowledge Institute requirements.

  • Help to profile the work of the Knowledge Institute to external and internal partners.

  • Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Criminal Sector Check (Essential)

  • Masters degree in psychology sociology health systems policy health administration or a related field (Essential)

  • Training in implementation science (Essential)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in applying implementation science thinking by planning and leading the implementation of quality standards quality guidelines or evidencebased programs/practices in health care or child and youth mental and addictions settings. (Essential)

  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirements (Essential)

  • Advanced knowledge of implementation science (Essential)

  • Advanced knowledge of evaluation and performance measurement (Preferred)

  • Project Management Professional Certification by a recognized organization (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of complexity systems thinking and collective impact with a strong focus on uptake scalability and sustainability (Essential)

  • Knowledge of knowledge mobilization (Preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a consultative model with demonstrated experience in working with diverse stakeholders at frontline senior manager community and provincial levels (Essential)

  • Demonstrated skills in group facilitation and adult education (Essential)

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including tact and adaptability (Essential)

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods survey design and fluency in statistical software (Preferred)

  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health and knowledge of the child and youth mental health and addictions system (Preferred)

  • Independent worker and selfdirected learner (Essential)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Essential)

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to meet timelines and deliverables and ability to manage competing priorities (Essential)

  • Valid Ontario drivers license (Essential)

  • Bilingualism (French / English) (Essential)

Le ou la consultant.e en mise en uvre appuiera les efforts visant planifier et mettre en uvre des normes de qualit des programmes fonds sur des donnes probantes et des projets au niveau du systme en matire de sant mentale et de sant lie la consommation de substances chez les enfants et les jeunes. Il ou elle fournira de lencadrement et des conseils lInstitut du savoir et ses partenaires notamment les organismes responsables et les partenaires des secteurs de service de lOntario. Le ou la consultant.e crera galement des outils et des produits pour diffuser les connaissances les plus rcentes sur la science de la mise en uvre. Le ou la titulaire du poste doit possder de solides connaissances des comptences et de lexprience dans ce domaine idalement acquises par la formation et le travail sur le terrain.

Relevant du ou de la gestionnaire de la mise en uvre et de lvaluation le ou la consultant.e en mise en uvre coordonnera son travail avec celui dautres membres du personnel de lInstitut du savoir et de lquipe de direction.
