Job Description
Maintenance Technician I
Troubleshoots repairs and maintains industrial machinery and electrical equipment such as motors bearings electrical circuits etc. within airports baggage handling system and passenger boarding bridges.
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with diagrams electrical drawings operational manuals and manufacturers specifications using hand tools and precision measuring devices and testing instruments.
Assist Maintenance Technicians and Lead Maintenance technicians with all maintenance including Inspection repairs break downs and preventive maintenance Inspection adjustment cleaning replacement.
Occasionally monitors system from the Control Room
Reporting maintenance activities through Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Attend to stoppages break downs bag jams
Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.
Assist with Inventory Counts
React to messages from the Control Room or Manager
Follows industrial and company safety standards and protocols
Be apart a pool of technicians that may be required to respond to any critical maintenance requests and perform scheduled quarterly preventative maintenance at Bangor International Airport
Other duties responsibilities and activities needed for the operation that are assigned at the discretion of the O&M manager.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 5 years technical experience in an industrial environment
General mechanical and electrical troubleshooting/problem solving skills
Valid drivers license
Willingness to learn
MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN AN AIRPORT BADGE (drug screen and background check)
Willingness to comply and cooperate with FAA TSA and all other authority having jurisdiction
Preferred Qualifications (All Levels Encouraged to Apply):
Minimum of 1 year work experience in a material handling environment (baggage handling material warehouse distribution etc.
Minimum of 1 year experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (i.e.. Maximo etc.
Experience with troubleshooting industrial communication and networking (ASi bus Ethernet TCP/IP or ControlNet.
Experience with troubleshooting PLC and electrical control devices

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job: Technicians work in the secured baggage handling areas in repair stations or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
Team members frequently bend stoop and reach from ladders and scaffolds while performing the duties of this job. Team members are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing throughout the day. Team members must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Team members will be lifting parts and tools related to repairs and inspections of conveyor systems and passenger boarding bridges. Occasional outdoor work.
While performing the duties of this job the team member is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system mechanical parts vibration occasional loud noise and adverse weather.
