Job Description:
Job duties
Moves loads and unloads materials supplies furniture and equipment; tears down modular furniture reconstructs modular furniture. Assists with performing routine painting and plastering of interior and exterior building surfaces signs furniture and equipment. Performs minor repair of furniture doors windows shelves and floors. Performs minor repair of water lines sinks and stools unclogging drains and sewers and replacing faucets valves and washers. Replaces light bulbs outlets and switches and greases and oils electric motors and fans. Performs minor repairs and adjustments on a variety of machines and equipment such as air conditioners chillers furnaces boilers kitchen appliances sewing machines office equipment electronic medical equipment wheelchairs pumps fan assemblies mowers automotive vehicles and grounds equipment. May maintain grounds by seeding fertilizing applying pesticides watering mowing and trimming grass weeding flower beds trimming trees and shrubs and removing snow and ice from sidewalks and parking areas. Moves loads and unloads materials supplies furniture and equipment.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: No specific education training or experience is required for entry to this class.
Preferred Qualifications: Long Term Care experience; commercial facility.
Other: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge skills and abilities
Knowledge of: the standard tools and practices of various building and mechanical trades.
Skill in: the use of a variety of basic hand tools power tools and maintenance equipment.
Ability to: perform minor repairs in a variety of building and mechanical trades; understand and follow instructions; use/operate hand and power tools and power equipment in a safe manner; perform manual labor.
