Job Description

Exolaunch delivers satellites from all over the world safely into space. At the heart of our success are our stateoftheart separation systems. These systems ensure that satellites withstand the rigors of launch and are reliably deployed into orbit from the launch vehicle. Our engineering team the Quality Test and Structures (QTS) Team is responsible for the testing validation and quality assurance of these critical systems from production to deployment in space.

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our team to develop and execute the tests we perform with our separation systems and with our satellite customers. Your role is based in Berlin Charlottenburg at the QTS headquarters.

The ideal candidate for this role has a background in space technology with experience in satellite launch structural dynamics vibroacoustics or test engineering. You are an excellent communicator and team player and are passionate about being part of a dynamic team that is driving the satellite industry forward.

Tasks

Tasks:

  • Planning and executing test campaigns for all Exolaunch products and with customer satellites.
  • Analyzing test data and writing reports.
  • Developing integration and checkout procedures for launch site activities.
  • Designing test fixtures and preparing them for manufacturing.
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Traveling to international customer facilities to support joint test activities.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Preferred is a background in structural dynamics or signal processing.
  • At least two years of experience of satellite or space hardware testing. Vibroacoustic testing experience in other industrustries is also acceptable.
  • Experience in working handson with hardware.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Experience in working with CAD software such as Solidworks. Preferred is experience with FEM software such as Simcenter.
  • Positive and proactive selfstarter attitude and ability to work in a highly integrated team setting.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and demanding environment.
  • Flexibility for frequent travel occasionally at short notice.

Location Requirement: This role is based in Berlin. Candidates must either currently reside in Berlin or be open to relocating.

Travel Expectations: The position requires flexibility for occasional travel including shortnotice trips. You should be comfortable with traveling approximately 1015 of your work time or for extended periods of up to two weeks at a time either to offsite test facilities customer locations or to launch sites.
