PLTW/Science Teacher Job Posting
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Elementary PLTW/Science Teacher to join our team. This fulltime position will involve instructing K5 students in projectbased Science and PLTW (Project Lead The Way) courses.
Responsibilities:
Teach PLTW/Science courses to K5 students using the projectbased curriculum.
Plan and deliver engaging instructional lessons tailored to meet the learning needs of students at all ability levels.
Integrate technology effectively into sciencebased instruction (CES is a 1:1 technology school).
Foster an environment of inquiry curiosity and enthusiasm for STEAM concepts.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve student outcomes including regular communication with students parents counselors and administrators.
Monitor and assess student progress providing feedback and implementing effective assessment practices.
Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and instructional practices.
Participate in and support extracurricular activities including robotics and club advisor opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Michigan Certification in Elementary Education.
Experience or demonstrated expertise in effective elementarylevel instruction.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues students and parents.
Deep understanding of Michigan State Science Standards.
Commitment to student learning and using data to drive instruction.
Familiarity with classroom strategies data analysis and MTSS (MultiTiered Systems of Support).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Experience with or interest in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification to teach additional content areas such as Science or Math.
Training and/or experience with Project Lead The Way (PLTW). (Training provided if necessary).
Interest and experience in Robotics.
Ability to lead extracurricular activities (e.g. as a club advisor).
A passion for fostering STEAMrelated learning among elementary students.
