FullTime Temporary High School Teacher
Career Pathways School (In Conklin)
Northland School Division is seeking a Temporary High School Teacher at Career Pathways School for theschool year with option to extend to the start ofschool year. The grades 1012 school is located in the community of Conklin Alberta. Conklin is the most southern community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. It is a quiet rural community located approximately 155 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray on scenic Christina Lake and can be accessed from Alberta Highways 63 and 881. Major Responsibilities include:
- Following the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
- Plan and execute daily lessons based on short medium and long range planning.
- Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular timely manner.
- Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
- Support schoolparentcommunity engagement.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborativedecision making.
- Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.
- Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
- Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd. degree.
- Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
- Additionally should the successful applicant receive a successful evaluation there may be an opportunity to receive a continuous contract.
