Description

CompQsoft is looking for an Optical Network Engineer SME responsible for designing testing and maintaining secure optical transport networks for military and government operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Network Design & Implementation: Develop and deploy optical networking solutions including DWDM and OTN systems tailored for DOD/DISA environments.
  • Engineering Design: Lead the design and architecture of optical transport networks ensuring scalability efficiency and security.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to DOD security protocols including encryption and secure data transmission.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct interoperability testing between different vendors optical transport equipment and cryptographic devices.
  • Collaboration: Work with DISA teams to integrate optical networks into broader military IT infrastructure.
Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active DOD Secret or higher Clearance.
  • Security or equivalent 8570 IAT II certification.
  • 5 years of Optical systems engineering experience including SONET DWDM TDM and Ethernet technologies.
  • Extensive experience in designing optical transport networks for DOD/DISA environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Dense WavelengthDivision Multiplexing (DWDM) technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and Visio for technical documentation.
