The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Maternal & Child Health Manager in the Health Care Services Unit.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

The chief objective of the Manager Maternal and Child Health (MCH) is to lead and enhance the health and wellbeing of mothers and children through the strategic oversight of diverse programs and services aimed at improving health outcomes for Virginia Medicaid beneficiaries.

This role requires strong leadership to guide teams and unit staff optimize staff performance and ensure the effective of maternal and child health programs.

By aligning program objectives with the Agencys strategic goals and quality standards the Manager MCH drives impactful initiatives and fosters continuous improvement in maternal and child health services ultimately advancing the Agencys mission to improve health outcomes for all.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Knowledge of healthcare program administration.

Considerable experience researching collecting and analyzing data to help devise strategies for the programmatic and operational outcomes.

Considerable knowledge of leadership and management principles.

Considerable knowledge of and the ability to plan organize and lead work groups to ensure development implementation and maintenance of programs and operations within a matrix environment.

Considerable experience utilizing MS Office products.

Considerable experience in the interpretation and application of federal state laws/regulations.

Considerable experience meeting deadlines.

Considerable experience with communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Considerable working knowledge and experience with maternal health and child health populations.
