Job Description

Temporary PartTime Tutor/Mentors
(Grant funded position)

Employment

The Upward Bound program at Highland Community College depends upon the quality of its parttime teaching and tutor/mentor staff to provide instruction academic support and guidance to program participants during the summer and academic year programs.

Tutor/Mentor Positions

Tutors provide academic tutor/mentor and supervision of students during summer provide leadership for assigned groups of students during program activities and serve as role models.

Educational Requirements: At least a 2nd year college student.

Required Experience:12 years as an academic tutor or summer camp counselor demonstrated leadership skills excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of the needs of a diverse youth population.

Compensation: Tutors are paid hourly $2023 per hour). In the summer tutor/mentor are compensated for the hours of 9 a.m.3:00 p.m. MondayThursday. Trips and overnight stays are paid by the program.
