Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Environmental Health and Safety to join our growing team. The primary functions of this position are to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and procedures for all employees and staff achieve departmental KPIs and targets implement the EH&S Management system and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations across business operations. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals!

What you get to do:

• Lead a team to achieve departmental and company KPIs and targets.
• Keep up with EH&S market trends to drive an operational continuous improvement strategy for business operations.
• Oversee strategy development KPIs metrics and targets for operations to deliver departmental and organizational KPIs.
• Foster company culture through communication plans to develop a culture of safety in all business operations.
• Share progress through daily weekly and monthly reporting to stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure collaboration across departments and drive safe actions within business operations.
• Implementation of EH&S management system policies and procedures to ensure compliance with directives.
• Advise and guide operational leadership on the implementation of EH&S management system risk identification and mitigation.
• Responsible for data analyses targeted campaigns programs and initiatives.
• Ensure governance and compliance with the EH&S management system and policies.
• Contact with regulatory bodies contractors and industry establishments.
• Work with EH&S team members to conduct root cause and common cause analysis.
• Ensure EH&S training compliance across the business.
• Management of EH&S legal compliance.
• Effectively communicate and escalate within the level of authority in the organization.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelors degree in safety management environmental engineering or relevant area or study preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in executive safety management.
• Team leadership: ability to lead inspire manage and delegate effectively across departments.
• People development: ability to develop themselves and their people to their full potential.
• Performance orientation: selfmotivated to drive the business increase performance and deliver results.
• Excellent project management problemsolving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams and external partners.
