Job Description

Job Title:Commercial Truck Maintenance Supervisor

Location:Richardson Terminals Galena Park Texas

Employment Type:FullTime (Monday through Friday with some weekends)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commercial Truck Maintenance Technician to join our team at Richardson Terminals. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial trucks ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and managing maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial trucks.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and standards.
  • Manage staff stock and inventory related to truck maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance plans and operations to ensure efficiency.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot issues in commercial trucks identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of trucks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including work orders and inventory of supplies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the timely completion of maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures.

Diesel and Gas Engine Transmission Transfer and Differential Service and Repair Experience:

  • Engine Service: Experience in servicing and repairing diesel and gas engines.
  • Transmission Service: Proficiency in servicing and repairing transmissions.
  • Transfer Case Service: Ability to service and repair transfer cases.
  • Differential Service: Skilled in servicing and repairing differentials.
  • Engine Brands: Proficiency in working with engines from brands such as Detroit Diesel Mack Caterpillar Cummins and Volvo.

Specific Skills Required:

  • Technical Proficiency:Expertise in using hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance:Experience in developing and executing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Corrective Maintenance:Ability to perform corrective maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • DOT Compliance:Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards for commercial trucks.
  • Staff Management:Experience in managing maintenance staff and coordinating tasks.
  • Inventory Management:Ability to manage stock and inventory related to truck maintenance.
  • Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
  • Time Management:Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Computer Skills:Familiarity with maintenance management software and basic computer skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in truck maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in commercial truck maintenance preferably in a terminal or port environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting climbing and working in various weather conditions.
  • CDL preferred but not mandatory.

Valued Certifications (Not Required):

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP):Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated the knowledge skills and abilities required to lead maintenance and reliability initiatives.
  • ASE Certification:Validates expertise in automotive service excellence.
  • DOT Compliance Certification:Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and standards.
  • OSHA 30Hour Certification:Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety and health standards.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM):Recognizes expertise in facility management including maintenance and operations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Frequently required to sit stand walk handle objects reach with hands and arms and write talk type and hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit stoop bend kneel and lift or move up to 50 lbs. The associate typically works in an office environment but frequently visits a warehouse or outdoor environment and is able to work days nights and weekends.
