Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Representing the Behavioral Health Services within Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH) and to other public constituencies.
  • Communicating effectively in a mature and respectful manner with employees patients / family members and other health disciplines to promote a positive work environment.
  • Devoting at least thirtysix 36 hours per week to patient clinical time and four hours per week to administrative time except during periods of absence.
  • Attending pertinent committee / staff meetings.
  • Collaborating with Psychiatrists and PsychiatricMental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to ensure overall patient care and compliance related to BHS.
  • Providing clinical oversight and care to patients on the BHU.
  • Reviewing potential admissions to the BHU from SNHH and external facilities.
  • Providing clinical oversight of the PHP and the IOP.
  • Collaborating with ACCESS clinicians.
  • Providing occasional onsite consultation at SNHMC Main Campus as needed.
  • Participating in afterhours clinical oncall duties to provide 24/7 psychiatric coverage as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of behavioral health services and treatment provided by the medical staff.
  • Supervising and teaching third and fourthyear medical students during their behavioral health rotation.
  • Performing all required clinical documentation pertaining to patient care including the timely signing of medical records.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of reported and recorded information in compliance with HIPPA standards.

Education/Licensure/Experience:

  • MD/DO degree and must meet the training and experience requirements for examination by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
  • Current NH Board of Medicine License or working towards
  • Experience: 2 years clinical practice
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Clinical care using best practices excellent written and verbal communication leadership mentoring and computer skills.
