News Photographer Traffic & Breaking News
PartTime
Curtis Media Group is seeking a skilled and dependable parttime News Photographer to capture compelling visuals of traffic accidents breaking news and roadside incidents for broadcast and digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp eye for storytelling a strong sense of urgency and the ability to safely and efficiently operate in unpredictable environments.

Curtis Media Group is seeking a skilled and dependable parttime News Photographer to capture compelling visuals of traffic accidents breaking news and roadside incidents for broadcast and digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp eye for storytelling a strong sense of urgency and the ability to safely and efficiently operate in unpredictable environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly to traffic accidents road hazards and breaking news scenes.
- Capture highquality video and still photography that tells a clear and compelling story.
- Work closely with assignment editors reporters and producers to provide timely visual content.
- Ensure all footage adheres to ethical journalism standards and respects privacy/safety guidelines.
- Edit and upload footage on tight deadlines for broadcast web and social media.
- Maintain awareness of public safety and emergency responder protocols on active scenes.
- Experience operating professional video cameras and photography equipment.
- Strong knowledge of traffic safety laws and best practices for working roadside.
- Ability to stay calm and work efficiently in highpressure sometimes chaotic situations.
- Excellent communication skills and situational awareness.
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record.
- Availability for early mornings nights weekends and oncall shifts.
- Previous news or breaking news photography experience.
- Basic understanding of scanner traffic and public safety terminology.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
