CTE Agriculture Ed. Teacher

Condition of Work:180 days/1FTE
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
To implement instruction and assess accomplishments of students in a comprehensive 912 Agriculture Education program in conjunction with the Districts philosophy of education and instructional goals/objectives.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a 180 day contracted position. Salary placement for teaching assignment will depend on experience education and certification. Quincy School District teachers are paid on the State LEAP Salary Schedule. Retirement medical dental and other benefits are in accordance with Board policy. This position also includes an extended contract which covers obligations in coadvising the Quincy FFA Chapter SAE visits maintaining facilities etc.
Quincy High School/Quincy Jr. High are rural schools serving approximately 1200 students. The staff is comprised of experienced professionals who work collaboratively to insure a quality education for each student. There is a strong supported Career & Technical Education department at both buildings. In alignment with the districts learning improvement plan a school improvement plan has been developed through the work of staff and administration with the involvement of parents students and community members.
Other schools in the Quincy School District are Mtn. View Elementary and Pioneer Schools K3 George Elementary School K4 Monument Elementary School 46 and High Tech High School a 912 school of choice. The Quincy Community has consistently demonstrated strong support for its schools. Volunteers contribute through involvement with student activities and improvement committees. The District has focused efforts on implementing a facilities update as part of its Strategic Plan. QSD recently passed a 3year maintenance and operations levy and a $108 million dollar bond which in part will fund the construction of a stateoftheart high school facility and remodeled middle school set to open in 2019.
The Quincy Valley is located near the geographical center of Washington State just 10 miles north of I90 about half way between Seattle and Spokane. Agriculture provides the economic base with over 200000 irrigable acres under cultivation producing a wide diversity of crops. The city of Quincy has a population of over 5000 and approximately 10000 people live within the school district boundaries. Microsoft Yahoo and Intuit have all invested in new facilities in our community. The Columbia River is just a few miles from downtown Quincy. Recreational boating water sports hunting fishing and outdoor concerts are among the many outdoor activities available. Recent recreational developments include Cave B Sagecliffe Resort and Sunserra at Crescent Bar.
